#1 | | Crushy McSternum | It's bean so long. I mean, "been." After a very long period of not even doodling, I have reacquired some measure of interest in drawing, if only to get mental images out and onto paper. It's relaxing, in a way, though I am impaired by the fact that I never paid attention in the art classes I took as a boy, even though they weren't serious classes anyway.
Please! You look? [/Borat]
Now for critiques of my own work. How exciting!
1) "Coffee Culture"
That sums it up. It's a guy coming off a caffeine buzz. My problem is the lack of a background (gah), which means that I was an arse and just drew him leaning against a column. Grrreat! Now he's coming off a caffeine buzz in a subway- but the rest of the subway is invisible. For plot development purposes, I'm sure.
I am pretty satisfied with it, considering it was my second real "sketch" after my hiatus. Hate the left hand and the thumb opening in the sleeve, and the bag (and its strap) seem unnatural. I like his hair, and the face is okay. I have a strange liking for tired, frazzled subjects involving smoking, simply because it's so cliche to smoke a cigarette that it's become poetic in my mind.
2) "The Modern Ritual"
Sleepy. Bleary-eyed. Unshaven. A cup of some nondescript, bland beverage in hand, ignored until cooled to its ruin. *shrug*
I am generally pleased with the torso. The right arm was a total copout. The face is meh- I suck at eyes. Fact. The lower half would be good if it weren't for this person- it's too low down and the legs are too short.
3) "The Evening Banker"
Mussed by a cablecar transit home, he smokes a pipe to prepare himself for his young, talkative son and the family dog who insists that our intrepid banker is more of a mailman than a member of the family, which he conveys by biting and growling.
The only problem I have with this one is pretty much just the detailing of the clothes. I need to work on wrinkles, etc.
4) SKETCH! I actually just wanted to draw myself smoking a pipe after I draw someone else doing so. [/loser]

#3 | | Baby #2 is here! | Your drawings make me think that you like to draw alot of super-heroes and such.
The lines and folds in the clothes in the first picture are awesome. The second one has great perspective. And the fourth is just sweet...I havent smoked my pipe in a few months...the last batch of tobacco I got was nasty, and left a BAD "aftertaste".

#4 | | Crushy McSternum | I actually never could get the hang of drawing superheros. At one point I tried desperately. Mostly, though, it comes from being fascinated with anatomy books, especially sections on musculature. Though I will admit that skeletons are fun study material, too.
Oh. And I have a sense of humor, too.
1) Concept for comic. Actually, that's not true. The concept for the comic is just a scrawl in my sketchbook. Then the next page in the book are the first sketches. Contrary to popular opinion, a lot of comics aren't actually drawn in the format you see now- the artist draws individual characters within individual frames, then puts it all together in an editing program to be able to really tweak any and everything about it.
So really, this is just the concept for the layout.
2) A little closer! Now it needs to have a flow...
3) Much better! Mole-toe benny, as they say in Italy. I am pleased. Very much so. Not so much with the text and balloons. Sigh. But hey. Not bad for a first. Notice also the name change.
PS- God and Gabriel have beer guts because I am crazy-lazy.

#8 | | Crushy McSternum | Shucks!
1) Sketch. Whoo. I think of it as being titled "A convenient loneliness." He is offering $2 to anyone who will wait at a bus stop with him. Of course, he's not getting on the bus. He is a logical one, he is.
2) Another sketch. The title's scrawled on the picture somewhere. *shrug*
Both of those are straight out of my actual sketch book, which is not what I am used to scanning. Normally I transfer to a very bright white paper to get cleaner lines and better scan quality in terms of color differentiation. But hey. Whatev. [/drama queen]
3) CONCEPT! Another comic is on the way. I am actually revamping it from the original concept, which included a second character and maintained the traditional "fourth wall" of any sort of entertainment. The new concept takes the fourth wall, throws it under a garbage dumpster and then waits for someone to get sick and toss their cookies all over the dumpster and, subsequently, the fourth wall. *demented smile*

| Ahh, sweet o.o I really like the art style you've got, especially faces. The eyes go really well with it, in my humble opinion |

#12 | | Crushy McSternum | Thank you, thank you. I'm touched!
1) This is my signature. Oooooh...!
2) The final rendition (haha. Yeah, right.) of the gamer comic. I actually went in an entirely different direction. I don't actually know enough about RPGs to really get into mocking them. But I am extremely familiar with the concept of "fan service," since I used to be all "OMG I LUV IT !!!" about anime. So this is me taking a shot at people who buy games just for fan service. Fan service is when you get tantalizing glimpses in an animated show or in a game. Like the outfits in an FF game, or a particularly appealing schoolgirl outfit.
Technically, this is actually the second "final" version. The previous one had a different trigger/fan service, but it was too explicit to really get the fan service joke across. So I made it G-rated, instead of PG. *shrug*
