Church Festival

Halloween night a church that I live by (Eastside Baptist), I'm not a member of but have been a guest there a few times, held a little halloween thingy/festival the other day, our town has a population of like 5,000 or so.. I know there were OVER 500 people there, they were giving out free food, drinks, AND candy.. games for the kids, tons of stuff.. I just think they went out of their way to do this for the community. I love when I see something like this.. I saw all different kinds of people there that I knew didn't attend the church and probably never plan on attending. It's good to know that there are still some good people in this world and actually contribute to our community in a VERY good way.

How has your church helped YOUR community?

Every year, in the community celebration, we put our band on a float in the parade. We also hand out 10,000 bottles of ice-cold water to the people watching the parade. The biggest problem is that we've run out of water the past few years, and it hasn't made it all the way to the end. Our church is known around our community as "the church that hands out water."
