Above is the flyer for Decyfer Down, playing the Noteworthy next Sunday. The poster itself, including the cd and text hyping the cd, came with the template, supplied by Decyfer's Down management. I did not put it there and everything was on one single layer, so it could not be easily taken out easily. Taken it out with is much more effort than I want to undertake, so it stays unless someone here wants to remove the cd and hype text and remove it well.
All the text related to the show - the dates and venue info - are mine. Compared with my other flyers, it should be obvious that minimal effects, color and font variations are being used. The main exceptions are the Date and the Noteworthy text.
The date gets a unique font because I want it to really stand out, but I believe the font stays within the vibe of the poster. The venue name gets emphasized style to stand out also.
I wanted "The Noteworthy" to clash, abruptly jut out from everything else, but am now
having second thoughts to adjust the Noteworthy font, color or style to blend in more with the vibe of the underlying poster template.
The phone number, web address and address [at least Bedford, PA] must be in the poster unlike flyer examples that left one or more of these out. Bedford is a very small town. The Noteworthy depends on gaining awareness and attracting living an hour to hour and a half away. All the contact and location info. gets provided up front to make it convenient for such outsiders to have several means of learning more about the Noteworthy and where it is at.
P.S. I still have to list two more bands that I being added to the bill. Also, may have to list the start time for Decyfer Down as certain people want to know whether they can leave by 6, 6:30 etc. and drive up to an hour plus and still catch the full set of the headliner. "Cost $5" could probably also be made into a single line and moved up by the date, perhaps under the start time.
