| Fender Twin Question Is $425 a good deal for an early 70s Fender Twin (master volume model)? |

| my totally uneducated guess: If it's in good working condition, I would snatch that baby up. My guess is a friend is offering it?

| Very good. The lowest I've seen is 600 used. |

| +1 to what's been said.
I'd play it first if you have the option...though even if you don't you could probably turn around and make a profit on it as long as it's in good working order. The reason I say play it first is because 1970s Twin Reverbs (I'm guessing that's what this is) have a love/hate reputation. Some people find the master volume knob to be useful, but many feel that it's useless because of the characteristics of the overdriven sound. Also at 100-135W (varies with the year), those things are clean beasts. |

| If I was in your shoes, I would get it and then take it to a good amp tech and ask him to mod it to blackface specs. $400 sounds like a good deal to me. |

I've read a few revies of guys who had SF Twin Reverbs and modded them, then had them modded back to SF. the BF sound isnt' for everyone. (though the truth be told, I'd probably get one modded to BF if I had one) |

| If it works and looks good, I envy the buyer.
Tell us how it goes. |
