and i was wondering if there are any customs info i should know. i heard the 'peace' sign is the same thing is giving someone the finger, is that true? ive looked up some australian custom websites and couldnt find it on there, so im just making sure before i make some people mad.

while im at it, can someone recommend a good cheap cell phone carrier?

thanks much!

I can't think of any general customs info, but if you have questions i might be able to help answer them

The peace sign backwards roughly means 'up yours'. Making a peace sign forward means... peace

There are a few phone carriers - main ones are vodafone, telstra and optus. With all those you can buy a Sim card and put credit on it, and stick it in your phone. There are shops for them at pretty much any major mall that you go to. You can also generally buy the sim-cards and credit from supermarkets, newsagents and petrol stations.

Where abouts are you visiting?

That would be in Sydney. A friend of mine is down there at the moment.

Baulkaum Hills to be exact.

How long are you going there for? To study, or just for a holiday?

I know quite a few people who go there.

im praying right now to see if God really really wants me to go there to study. If i do go, i would like to have a degree (2 years) instead of the certificate (1 year) so right now its just for my friends who know for sure they are going.

are there any other gestures that shouldnt be uh, gestured? we rely heavily on movement in our conversations.

Where are you from? If you're from the US or the UK or somewhere similar, you really have nothing to be concerned about.
