So do y'all think a reverb pedal would make it do the same thing, or is it just the amp's unit?

This is off topic, but what do you guys think the best preamp tubes are? If its a subjective thing, which do you like best personally?

It's just the amp's unit. A reverb pedal doesn't use a spring tank like an amp reverb does. While springs are generally considered superior to digital reverb, a reverb pedal will give you reverb.

If you are getting a reverb crash from someone stepping on the other end of the stage, it sounds like there is a problem with the reverb circuit. Unless maybe you have it all the way up and/or lots of gain maybe. Peavey Bravos have a reverb issue, I think its with the hi gain channel - if its set to like 4.5 or 5 or higher, it will oscillate at a certain frequency, similar to microphonic squeal, but not quite as loud. I don't think my Bravos do that, but I did lower the gain.... Anyway, its possible that the C30 may have a reveb circuit design flaw. Try turning down the reverb level. Where do you have the reverb level set? You might also pull the reverb tank out (the rectagular metal box in the bottom of the cabinaet) and make sure the springs are all hooked on properly, and that the reverb unit is "floating" inside the tank, not touching it.

I always had the reverb at about 6. And it crashes on the clean channel just the same as it does with high gain. I will check out the tank later tonight.
