Was this neccessary?

If it was totally inappropriate, then fine. Maybe we could do without calling me out in front of everyone in an especially harsh way. Of course I don't advocate illegal drug abuse. If that post was totally taboo, then "luvinjesus" needs to comb through the front page of humor and get rid of some other posts.

well... I think a good way to handle this would be to pm luvinjesus and explain how she could have handled it better by just pming you, and kindly explain that the way she handled it hurt you. I know it's hard to speak kindly when your furious about something, but usually speaking kindly to hard words is the best way to convince the other side that they could have handled things better as a general rule, it's always a good idea to pm someone rather then calling them on the carpet, but perhaps luvinjesus had things on her mind that you are not aware of CGRers aren't know for hurting others just for the fun of it.. there's usually something else going on that leads to that.

It definitely should have been handled in private...And the big, bold red letters? What's that about? I've never seen a moderator do any such thing before.

Tis common practice for mods to attempt to make humor from editing posts... It is normally a very bad idea.

Honestly, I think mods who edit other people's posts for the sake of humor should lose their modships.

Who has talked bad about anybody? I haven't seen anybody make any personal attacks in this thread.

well.. considering it's about a specific mod, who might not even know this thread exsists, i just feel it's not quite apropreate to be talking about how wrong her decision was in public, espeically when the decision people are upset about is because it was done in public.. just seams we need a little more "do unto others as you'd have them do unto you", that's all.

Well, as long as Casey's post stays edited the way it is, I don't think it's wrong for it to be discussed in public. That post has been left in public the way it is for a week. Maybe it was a joke, if it was; I'll admit that I didn't get it. It just seemed really weird for a mod to edit in something like "you are advocating drug use," in giant red letters. I don't have anything against luvinjesus. In fact, I don't recall ever interacting with her on this website. All I saw was that Casey was concerned enough about something to make this thread and that a week later, nothing had changed.

You REALLY thought posting a video of someone who was high from using drugs would be appropriate on CGR? SERIOUSLY? Well in case you didn't know, it isn't.
I meant to only leave that post up for a few days, and I honestly forgot about it. It's been taken care of.
And I should've p.m'd the user, but as it was, I was incredibly busy with work the past two weeks, since someone in my department got fired, and I was working extra shifts, and forgot.

Thank you for clarifying what this post was. I think you made the right decision.

so it was easier to edit...type up response, save, and close the thread than it would've been to send PM and delete?

I agree that the content probably wasn't appropriate (didn't see it, so i can't say for sure, but if it's as described, then yeah), however I think that sometimes our moderating techniques (and I say "our" to mean all moderators, including myself) can be refined to keep things like this from popping up. What seems perfectly fine to us, might come off as harsh to another user.

This thread isn't appropriate. Casey, your issues are to be taken to the mod in question otherwise, bring it up with the smods/admin team. To go public like this hasn't made you better that what the mod in question did.

The rest of you, unless you are actually a mod in that forum, it's none of your business.

I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner.
