Had to jump in!

npfan, I'll give you a 6. Dig the Gibson, Fender, and Tube Screamer, but that's about it. A TS808 has got to go in front of a tube amp.

Schecter C-1 Classic - Seven. Definitely a solid guitar all a08round, though personally I find the inlays to be a bit gaudy...this has always been a major complaint I've had with much of the Schecter C-1 line
Epiphone LP-100 - Four. I'm sure it's not terrible, but I can't say that I've been impressed enough to call them mediocre
Fender 65R - Five. It's 65W...and it has reverb.
Crate Practice Amp and Pignose Portable - both threes...they're practice amps.
VS H2O - Seven. A highly regarded delay...AND chorus
TS808 - Seven...a solid tubescreamer...

Total - 36/70...just over a 5. If I ignore the practice amps, you'd be at a six for sure.

Wow, lots of stuff, tough to give you a good rating. I don't know a lot about basses, but I'm liking the Fender guitars and basses. Props for the polytone, I hear good things about that company. Lots of Dano pedals which I'm not a huge fun of, but I'll give you a 7.5 for diversity of equipment.

I've got:

Guitar: Godin Montreal
Amp: Mesa/Boogie Blue Angel
Effects: Fulltone FD-2, TS-9, Barber Tone Press, EB 6166 Volume Pedal, Boss TU-12, POD XTL (in effects loop)

Hmm...I'll give you a 7 for having that old acoustic, old stuff rocks! (BTW, i'm not rating on how much stuff you have, just the quality or what that might be in my opinion rather)

PRS CE 22, 2000 model

Vox AD50VT

Taylor 414-CE Rosewood limited

Pedals/effects used:
Fender Tuner
Amp reverb/delay (Vox)

Pedals/effects unused:
Yamaha Magicstomp
Digitech HyperPhase

BTW, thesteve is not allowed to rate this one...he did it last time *shakes fist*!

well, you own just one guitar... I know you think it is the best ever, but you have less flexibility... I'll give you a 7, the guitar is very nice, but in my opinion you need more options (or at least a backup)

Amp? Not a fan of modeling, especially the vox.... 6

Effects? 5

Average 6.

Now some of these other reviews are ridiculously high, and, compared to a lot of them you would deserve an 8/9, but with 1 being beginner and 10 being pro, I think 6 is fine, your amp/effects really drag you down (if you like it power to you.)

My stuff:
Guitars:
1) Taylor 310 w/ BBand A2.2 system installed
2) Vintage 1970's Epiphone acoustic (a hand me down from dad)
3) 1996 Fender American Jazz Bass 5 string (for the RARE times I play bass)
4) 1998 Fender American Telecaster (1st back up)
5) 2001 Epiphone Les Paul Custom (2nd Back up)
6) 2005 Suhr Classic w/ Cherry Burst, one piece swamp ash body, maple fretboard, even 'C' extra slim neck, Suhr V60 LP pickups, blend control knob, Gotoh 1088 with Steel Block bridge, buzz feiten tuning system, and the BPSSCS.

Amps:
1) 1982 Dean Markley Signature Series 120 watt rack-mount tube head. (before you go dissing this amp, you should know that eric clapton toured with one in the 80's, they are AWESOME amps)
2) Pacific 410 cab (not the pacific drum makers, but a '70's and '80's boutique cabinet maker out of L.A.)
3) Burriss BTS-18 (18 watt class A, vox/matchless/bad cat killer, great amp...

Effects:
1) Original Crybaby
2) Keeley Compressor
3) Keeley Fuzz Head
4) Homebrew Electronics 'Power Screamer'
5) Line 6 MM4
6) Ernie Ball Volume pedal
7) Line 6 DL4
8) 2nd Line 6 DL4
9) Boss RC-50 Loop station
10) Voodoo Labs PP2

All cables are george L's

Guitars...9 awesome stuff, I have an MIA Tele and it is a very nice guitar...don't have much experience with the other ones except the LP Custom, also nice guitar.

Amps...also 9.

Effects...7 I have no experience with those pedals except for the Crybaby and I love it.

Overall...8.333333333333, according to my calculator. ^_^

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.

The Yamaha is one of the most amazing sleeper amps on the market. Mike Soldano designed the T50/T100 line, and they sound like you'd expect any great high-gain amp should. One of the highlights is the wonderful tube driven reverb. The clean channel is very bright and responsive, while the distortion channel as about as much gain as you could ever want and sounds just amazing. This in a nice small package, so it's a darn portable amp, which is a big reason I got it.

It's nothing like Yamaha has ever done before or has done since, it was a really short-lived run of amps. I think it sounds much better than the comparable Mesa F-50 I played. And it is a totally MIA amp, from the Soldano design to the factory in Georgia where it was made.

Didn't stop you from rating the amps.

nbfan:
Guitars: 8, nice electrics, could use more in the acoustic department.
Amps, etc: 7, decent enough amp, some nice stomps.

*If I may break the rules for a second*

I don't think we should be so generous in our ratings guys.

Hellfighter gets an 8 while he has a Suhr?

Sorry, but that deserves a high 9 or even 10.

I don't think I've seen a rating below 4 overall.

MOD NOTE: THIS WAS AN EXPECTED PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING, THOUGH HONESTLY IT'S TRUE. THERE'S NO SHAME IN SIMPLY NOT RATING GEAR THAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT AND ONLY RATING WHAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST READ ABOUT. ALSO, JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE SAME GEAR DOESN'T MAKE IT AN EIGHT OR A NINE.

CONSIDER 10 THE BEST, 5 AVERAGE AND 1 BEGINNER. RATE ACCORDINGLY. JUST BECAUSE A SQUIER IS THE BEST YOU'VE PLAYED, DOESN'T MAKE IT A 10.

(also let's please keep rating...conversation is fine...with ratings attached )

THANKS
-TS
