because people wanna know how stuff works... obviously... i mean, but for an average english teacher to read about power tubes and rectifiers... they'd be fairly bored...

Well, English class is boring, so I might as well write about something I'm interested in. Also, if I make a mistake and say something that's incorrect, she probably wouldn't know any better. This isn't really a formal class. I'm homeschooled, and my mom is having me take it to evaluate my writing. So really the purpose of the class is to find out whether I can write well or not. I think as long as it's well-written, the teacher won't mind.

for what it's worth, this is only true in guitar amplification and some, but very few pro-audio cases. In the rest of the electronics world, professionals do prefer SS.
