problem

Ok so today i go in and turn on the vox, but i noticed all the volume is gone, well a little is there but its running full power and there is hardly anything going on. Also it sounds really trelbly no bass in the sound at all. So is it one of the tubes shot, or something bigger?

That could be about anything.... Has it been set down hard, fallen over in a car, or a has the cable at the input been tripped over or yanked?

You have eliminated the guitar, and the cord? You tried the other input/channel?

First, as always, I would pull the tubes out and put them back in a couple times. Then I would swap out each preamp tube with a known good one. If its a tube, my guess is a preamp tube - if one of the power tubes is bad, the other 3 should still provide some decent volume.

Only other thing I would try is to smack it a bit while its on to see if that restores it, even if its just momentarily. That would suggest a broken solder joint.

Oh yeah, make sure the speaker plug is pushed all the way into the speaker out jack.

That could be quite bad if it weren't

And make sure your amp is turned off before you do this, or you'll get quite a rude awakening like I did once.

Same thing happened to me. I wiggled my powertubes a bit and it worked fine again.
