| When I read it, it says to be hospitable to strangers, for one reason, you never know when God has sent an angel your way as a stranger. (plain spoken paraphrase of it by me)
Thats just a plain reading of the text. In the context of the usage of angels in Hebrews, while it may seem a little less random to say that, the fact is, the meaning and application are not really altered at all. The passage is very simple, but its application somewhat terrifying to a large portion of the church.
Whats scary to me, is how as the church we generally regard strangers. How many angels have asked us for food along the freeway? How many have asked us for a jump when there car is broken down? How many times do we walk the other way?
