| the question was never who was cooler? in a fight, superman would absolutely destroy spiderman... spiderman wouldn't stand a chance, it's like USC vs. Vanderbilt.... spiderman would become superman's new mop...

| Read the original post. There's nothing about them being in a fight. |

| It says "better." That is how I'm trying to treat this thread and it's a far more interesting question than who could beat up whom (in this case). |

| Spidey. He wasn't born near indestructible and he's pretty much had to fight for every little thing he's ever had. He's a working man's hero for lack of a better term.
I wish the writers would give him a break for a while, but in the years I collected Spider-Man comics, it didn't look like it was ever going to happen.
For those interested, Marvel and DC teamed up years and years ago and made a giant-sized Spidey vs Supes comic. If I remember right, it was honestly bigger in size overall than the average comic. It might have been about 16" tall. I don't remember how thick it was, but it was big.
Somebody mentioned that the only way Spidey could take Supes would be if he had kryptonite. If I recall the storyline right, the bad guys in the storyline did find a way to infuse Spidey with the green stuff and he was able to go toe to toe with Superman. That was before they realized they had been played against each other and teamed up.
I can't say it was the very first time Marvel and DC "crossed over" each others universe, but it was one of the very early attempts. |

#38 | | *no catchy title* | I vote for Spidey. Superman's weakness is Kryptonite, but when anyone trys to use it, he still gets out! Supes is just NEVER on the edge of death! Exept in the movie Superman Returns. But he still got out of it!
