CGR Fantasy Basketball

Is there enough interest to do this again this year? Last year was kind of lame because by about halfway through the season barely half of the people were still active. What do you guys think? Wanna to try to start this up?

Well, Benny, if there's enough interest, I'd definitely be up for trying to dethrone you, considering I was leading till the last day of the season.

But I agree, let's make sure everyone who signs up is committed to sticking with the entire season.

We could do it through Yahoo again, or NBA.com and ESPN both host leagues. Whatever everyone wants to do is fine with me.

Yahoo's fine with me. Unless the others are better. I haven't ever played on anything but Yahoo.

I prefer Yahoo over the others. I'd definitely do it. Let me know if we get enough. I'll try to stay tuned to this thread.

Yahoo sounds good, now we just need more people.

Yahoo's not open for registration yet, so we've got plenty of time. We should get a couple of the ones from last year for sure... Mavsfan41, beau99, and SoccerAaron were the one who stuck with it methinks.

Yep, just with b-ball players.
More difficult to keep up with cause they play every day, not once a week.

and btw, whoever commished the last league should be able to go into their Yahoo fantasy profile and see who was in the league. (I think).

We could even make it really fun, and instead of doing a live yahoo draft, do the draft here on the CGR forum in this thread. It would take a while but that might be cool.

we could...

I don't know, I like the live drafts. If other people are up for doing it here though, I'm game. I think it would be more difficult though.

OK, I set up the league on Yahoo, like last year.

League: CGR
ID#: 4452
Password: guitar
URL: http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/4452

If the consensus is to do the draft here, I'll have to make the league again methinks.

Also, what do you think, do the same 8 stat categories as last year? (pts, reb, ast, 3pm, ft%, fg%, stl, blk) We could make a 9th category thought so there's less ties... Most other leagues add Turnovers as a ninth category. Do you think we should have that or not? Or a different stat? We could split rebounds into defensive and offensive. What do you all think?

Yeah, I like the live drafts too...I just thought it might be easier to get more people if we did it over time, and not all @ once. You could just post a list of the players here, and then cross them out as people make their picks. It might take a while, but it would get people into it. Plus, if you do a live draft now, it'll be a while before the season and people can lose intrest quickly.
If people like that idea, I'd be willing to help make it work. If not, a live draft is cool too. It'll be fun either way.

I have the draft planned for over a month from now. If we get enough people quickly enough, then we can bring the date closer.

Oh, and I figured out I can change the draft type if we want without re-starting the entire league. So let's hear from more people and find out what they think. I'm open to trying something different if others are. It might be nice to have more than 60 seconds to make a pick...

I vote we definitely do the draft live, that'll cut down on any potential issues. I like the 8 category format and I definitely want to keep H-2-H. I wouldn't mind adding TO's, but I'd prefer it the way it is. I signed up as gruuveguy because I'm in another league from another board where they wanted me to keep my name.

I can't do it when we have it scheduled though, I have class at 1:25-2:15 on Wednesdays. If we could do it at like 5:30 pretty much any day of the week that'd be great. Actually, doing it on the weekends would be ideal. Is that a possibility?
