Engagement and temptation

Hey all,

When you were engaged did physical temptation increase or decrease? Was it easier knowing you only had so many months more to wait or was it more difficult because in all other aspects you were already married? Does the length of engagement have any role in this? Thanks.

The shorter the egagement the better.

We found temptation during the dating as strong as in the engagement period.

The posibilty of argueing increases as well as you are now deciding on wedding plans together and need to disagree or agree together which can be tough.

I have to say for us the temptation increased a bit but we had a long engagement (9 months). I don't recommend a long engagement for that reason, Satan will certainly use it to his advantage. I also agree that the arguing does increase as well, that was such a stressful time. My husband and I had not really argued much until we got engaged lol.

It seems to be different for different people at least from what I've gathered.

paid
2 year engagement, and for us it stayed constant. It was rough while we were dating, rough while we were engaged.

It definitely didn't get any easier for me when we got engaged. If anything, it got harder, because hey, we were going to get married...

It did increase for us too. But it was less about being engaged, more that we'd been together for 3-1/2 years before we got married and the relationship had been building for so long - this was a logical next step so the temptation did increase!

for the first month, I think it's actually gone down. The feelings have certainly increased, but I don't think the temptation is as high because we can look at a date now and say, "on this day we can do what we want and so much more"

It got worse and worse until we got married.

And not to be anti-climactic, but it's just as bad after you get married, just in different ways, so I'd prepare yourself and protect your heart/eyes.
