I can't really imagine that being a success here in the States.
That ad bothers me. Seriously.

That's an utterly discusting ad! And their response is unbelievable! How unprofessional and childish for Hell Pizza to reply like that to a serious complaint
Thanks for this. I have discussed the story with my colleagues, who are of the opinion that Hell's Pizza do this sort of thing to garner publicity. For this reason (and because Sideswipe doesn't really have the sapce to cover te issue fully) we won't publish the story.
However, if the ASA does rule against the company the main part of the newspaper will likely follow-up in the news pages.
I will however write about this on my website (www.spareroom.co.nz) which is a more suitable forum, without giving the reach of the daily newspaper to their ad campaign.
Cheers, Ana

Hi Nada, The ‘Kids are evil’ campaign was developed by our Head Office with no input from individual franchisees. Having said that, HELL is no ordinary company and our advertising seeks to reinforce our branding as a company that takes a slightly controversial approach to delivering our messages. The ‘kids are evil’ campaign is not suggesting that kids are actually evil. Instead it tries to convey in an edgy way, the fact that kids can be difficult sometimes – particularly when it comes to providing them with good, nutritious and quality food that they can enjoy. Our intention is not to gratuitously offend anyone and we recognise the sensitivities that surround any use of religion in advertising. We want people to see our advertising as pushing the boundaries and tapping into a light hearted view of the trials of parenthood. We apologise to anyone who may be offended by our advertising and would say that we are not of course, suggesting that kids really are evil in the true sense of the word. >> We are a corporate body who sponsors many children’s charities in fact last week we gave over 1800 dollars to radio lollipop (this is the radio station that the children have in starship hospital). We also gave over 2000 to child cancer and the list goes on. We are by our actions proving that we care about kids and actively support children and the charities for those most at need, not many people nor companies can say they are doing this.I can assure you that there will be no more flyer drops around the ‘Kids are Evil’ Campaign. Thank you for your comments, Regards, Tania
