LOST in the strings

Well, some of you may have guessed it.

Hi, my name is Ken, and I'm a LOST fan. (crowd - Hi Ken...)

I couldn't think of a better title so this is it. I took two (2) things I have interest in and combined them for this - a tv show and guitar. Not to mention the state I used to be in before Christ found me so many years ago. I have been lost since and I will probably lose my way again, but Christ always brings me back to him and the Father.

I can't promise I will post often, but I will try to make them worthwhile. A little about myself. I live in Kansas, USA and have been playing the guitar for about a year and a half, maybe a little longer, but due to a lack of teacher and my computer going on the fritz, and falling out of love with my current guitar, I wasn't progressing very much. BUT, and there is always a butt, everyone has one ya know , I traded in my 8 year old Epi for a 2006 Taylor Big Baby. The guitar isn't as fancy as the Epi was, but it sure plays a lot easier for me as I have thick short fingers. Needless to say I am loving it! She really can sing. Now if I could just play better.

Moving on, I will have been married for 15 years on October 12th this year and I have 4 children with numero 5 on the way. 1 girl, 3 boys in that order. It is very interesting being the parent of a teenage girl. So many challenges, so little time. It goes by so fast I don't know where the time has gone... Well, enough for now, I need to practice a little while I still have some lunch time left.

Later days and God bless

Ken

P.S. It's very intimidating to post next to Kepa. I mean 34k views!! C'mon! How's a new guy supposed to feel posting next to that?!

Okay, another day another dime. This weekend is going to be a busy one. I will be grocery shopping tonight so I don't have to tomorrow. Why you may or may not wonder? I am going to meet my International Friend from China! Yeah, pray for me. He is 34 years old and is doing post doctorate research at KU. I believe he may be an engineer. How convenient that I work with engineers everyday. Pray that everything goes smoothly when I try to teach him english and I try to learn how to say his name correctly.

Later days and God bless,

Ken

Hey Ken. I know it's early but congratulations on 15 years of marriage.

Don't worry about my blog. It might seem like I have a lot of views, but just imagine if your name was Len. You'd have to start next to the biggest active thread on CGR (Lee's blog).

Do you have any pictures of your guitar? Any soundclips of you playing?

Oh, by the way, I'm a LOST-aholic as well. I can't wait till the new season starts. I won't be getting it for a while (being in New Zealand and all), but from all I've read about it, it sounds like it's going to be awesome. I don't suppose you've been following the Lost Experience, have you?

You also have the same name as the associate pastor at my church. You also have the same amount of children (he has 2 girls, 2 boys).

Anyway man,
Peace.

Welcome to CGR.

I've been married 15 years as well...but you've got me beat in the kid department. We decided to stop with three and I'm quite content with that.

I'm one of the mods here so feel free to ask for help if you ever need to.

Kepa will enjoy having another Lost fan up here.

Alrighty then. I know I haven't been on this weekend but I am now. Very busy indeed. I met with Qiang Ye and his wife Li yesterday and had a blast. I learned about China and how to say hello and goodbye. I feel that it is important to call these people by their proper names to break any anxiety they may have. They were a lovely couple. They don't have any religious beliefs to speak of other than when you die that's it. Atheist is how I would describe them in a non-hostile way. It's not that they aren't open to God, they just have never heard about Him. Pray for me that as the weeks and months go by that God would give me the relationship and opportunity to share Christ with these people. Okay, enough of that.

Kepa, thanks for well wishes on my anniversary. I don't have any pictures of the new guitar but maybe I can get some taken. We do own a digital camera now. I definately don't have any sound clips. I have a confidence problem with new people hearing me play. I'm not very good. Yet.

Dude, I have been following along most of the summer here in the states on TLE. LOST has moved right up there with Smallville as one of my can't miss shows. It will be hard not to converse with you on the new season when it starts so I don't spoil anything for you. What do you think of the Experience so far. Kind of interesting.

Lee, thanks for the offer of help, I'm sure I will need it at some point. Three is a good number, but I guess God had a bigger number in mind for us. We also home educate our children. I think we are stopping after this one is born. Well, gotta help put those kids to bed...

Later days and God bless,

Ken

That's it? I played all summer for that? Oh well. I guess I shouldn't have expected too much. I met and talked with quite a few people, when you could get them out of their little cliques, and was entertained for the first part of the story. That's right I am talking about The LOST Experience. Very anti-climactic to say the least.

I did however talk just a little bit to Jamie Silberhart, aka Rachel Blake, on myspace. Nothing heavy, just a compliment on how she kept a straight face at Comic Con. That woud have taken a great effort on my part. Then again, I am not a professional actor. I need to get to bed. Gonna be a short night, it's after midnight here in Kansas.

Later days and God bless,

Ken

I only sent her a message about how I thought she did a good job at Comic Con and she actually replied back to me. That's my 15 seconds of fame. I already listened to the song thru your link. All is well and I can't wait to be able to discuss this next season with you when you are able. I will try to remember not to talk too much about it to save the excitement for you.

Later days and God bless,

Ken

Okay, important things first. I am taking my oldest son (11 1/2) for a father son weekend. We are going to have "The Talk". Yep, that's right, "The Talk". While I am nervous and so is he, I feel it is time that we discuss what it is to be young man in today's world. Hopefully this will set him up for success in life as much as anything else we do for him. I feel it very important that a father have this time with his sons. All I got from my dad was "be careful". Not very good advice in my opinion. I love ya dad, God rest your soul, but sometimes you sucked as a parent. Anyway, I will be listening to Preparing for Adolescence by Dr. James Dobson. I have listened to them already by myself and there is some pretty plain talk about growing up, both physically and mentally. It should prove to be an interesting night and day tomorrow. I'm hoping that the movie theater where we are going will have the movie Facing the Giants. Nothing like a christian based footbal (American) movie to help teach your son about honoring God in his life.

I would talk about the Season Premiere of LOST but Kepa might read this. So just to say, IT WAS AWESOME! Very entertaining and it is nice to see that nothing has changed in the writing of the show.

Later days and God bless,

Ken

**Thanks Lee**

Okay, so yesterday was my wife and I's 15th anniversary. WOW! The years have flown by. To celebrate I am taking her, with me, on a business trip I am taking in November to Las Vegas. I will be busy all day, but seeing as she will be about 6.5 months pregnant, she will have some relaxation time and then some site seeing at night. We will see the Blue Man Group while we are there. I think we are going to check out H&H Tattoo Company. That should be fun as I am a tattoo nut (I have 5 in all). If I didn't have kids I would so find an apprenticeship in a local shop.

Later days and God bless,

Ken

Hey man, congratulations on the 15 years!

You'll have to take some pics of the tats. I know a couple of people on here have some. None for me at the moment. I'll do that when I'm a little less padded, if you catch my drift

I have too much padding myself. I hope to take care of that as soon as my chiropractor gives me the okay.

**LOST spoilers**

Alright, things are really starting to move on LOST, which means they will soon be coming to an end for awhile. Next week is the last episode until February! AAAGGHHH! Okay, I'm okay... EKO CAN'T BE DEAD !! One of the more interesting characters and now he's gone, too.

The Big Black Cloud Monster, possibly nanites, strikes again! What the heck is that thing? We know it has substance, it has proven that from episode one. I think we will be finding out later this season. Couple of wacked out theories here: 1. BBCM is a manifestation of Ben Linus' subconcious caused by his spinal tumor and vast intellect (not likely). 2. Mr. Eyepatch has something to do with it (more likely). 3. It is the Consciuosness of the Island itself. Whichever it is, watch out Locke, you're next! The BBCM can obviously take on the persona of whoever it wants to suit it's purposes.

On a side note, love the addition of Kiele Sanchez to the cast. She plays the ubercute blonde that we have seen for the first time this season. Way to go guys!

What about the SMACKDOWN that Eko served on the drug chumps? WOW! "You obviously don't know who I am!" WHAM! Is there no forgiveness on the island? Or, from the island?

So will Jack do what Ben wants or what Julia wants, or something all together different, what Jack wants? What is the connectioin between Ben and Julia anyway? Are they husband and wife? Brother and sister? Or are they just two kids that grew up together on the island that can't stand each other, and they have always tried to gain each others powerbase? We shall see...I know I don't trust Julia very much more than I trust Ben.

Looks like Kate and Sawyer are gonna get together next week. Can't say I'm thrilled. Although, Sawyer did set his little girl up to be taken care of. Some guys try and do the right thing. Well, until next time...

Later days and God bless (LDGB)

100% with you man. I hate that Eko is gone. Apparently one of his parents is ill, and he asked to be written out to be close them, or something. I'm going to miss his Jesus stick.

Haha, I don't agree with number 1 Number 2 is what I'm thinking. And I've seen number 3 mentioned a lot.

The thing about the cloud turning into things/people... we've never actually seen it transform. It's always either been something, or the cloud. Which leads me to question if it can actually turn into anything, or if it is anything at all. Whether it's all an hallucination created by the Island, including the black smoke, and it was a Matrix effect. His brain thinks he suffered the injuries that caused him to die, so he died. It's a bit of a stretch, but then again so is a floating cloud that's able to lift a man, and throw him with force

Haha, I have to disagree here I really dislike the two new characters. They're so "out of the blue", speak for the audience kind of characters, which can be good, but I don't find them good yet . Maybe when they find this new guy in the hatch they'll become good to me

Mmm, now this is something I've been discussing on another Lost board. Someone came up with the idea that it may all just be a con on Jack. Juliet's obviously playing Jack against Ben, and Ben's trying to play the good guy. I think Juliet and Ben could be testing Jack. To see if he has a mean streak, or if he really is this guy who just has to try to save everyone. I mean, the way Ben's x-ray's were just out for him to see. Then Ben talking to Juliet infront of Jack. The tape Juliet made. It's basically like Sawyer's con, where he says he has to go to a business meeting and the money falls out of the briefcase.

I think as far as their backstories go, they are the children of the original members of the DHARMA Initiative. I think Ben was/is the oldest, or is the son of the head hancho, maybe of Gerald and Karen DeGroot! But yeah, the power has gone to his head a bit, and he's a bit of a dictator. Or, maybe they're all friends, and it's a test on Jack.

Did he set up his little girl? Or did she con him? What if that's not his daughter? And she conned him to get him back for conning her

Anyway. That was a great post man. Good questions. I can't wait to see this next episode.
