I did the same for my Classic 30. The EL84 power tubes are prone to
filament rattle in these amps. I got a Tom's Tube tamer off of the Bay
and my new set of JJ/ Tesla EL84's stopped sounding like I had a kazoo
player hiding behind my amp.The Tube Tamer is made specifically for the
Classic 30 amp and it works great.
