| I haven't read all the way through this thread, but I'll respond to the opening post directly:
1. The President always gets blamed for everything by his political opponents; our current president is by no means unique in this way. Taking the blame (and the credit) for everything goes with the job.
2. Our current President is very bad at verbally defending himself. He is easily the worst public speaker to hold the office since Gerald Ford. Where other Presidents have had the the political savvy to silence critics, this one has allowed them to linger because of his relative inexperience (note that this is not in any way to be construed as commentary on his character, only his speaking skills).
3. The current administration has invited more criticism by being less forthcoming than previous administrations. The way to silence critics is to tell the truth. As long as there are questions to ask, there will be people who ask them, and, what's more, there will be critics who say they already know the answers.
