Now, THAT is funny!

I was playing with my Crapsio™ keyboard just now, with the song functions. And came across a classical piece, which I don't know the exact name, so please bear with me. The side of my keyboard identifies it as "Etude op.10 no.3 'Chanson de L'adieu.'" I unfortunately don't know who the composer is either.

Another song it has in its bank that I like and could see in a wedding ceremony is "Piano Sonata op.13 'Pathetiq' Second movement." Again, I don't have a composer's name given. Hooray for Japanese-made Crapsio™ equipment. Both songs have a serene feel to them, so my best (uneducated) guess is they might be Handel's or Bach's work. *shrug*

I guess both of these would be prelude-processional pieces, unless the bride and groom are anything like me and don't want the wedding march played anywhere near their ceremony.
psst. what rate are you looking at charging? Or would you barter for your work? Or would your family even be able to come to Cali in early December? [/justwondering]
The Etude is by Chopin, and the Pathetique was written by Beethoven. I think we have the same keyboard.

I think...I can't remember honestly...that "Be Thou My Vision" was the song chosen for our candle ceremony...the reason I can't remember is because for some reason I'm thinking that we had chosen that song and it ended up not being played for some reason.

Hah, probably. Crapsio likely uses the same songs in each song-loaded keyboard.

Hey Nate, I managed to snag my dad's wedding songbook when I left SF. It's a bit old (1970) but it has a lot of classic pieces in it. My dad played accordian, so the book is for organs - notes on a staff with chords above, but still good for pianists. I'd highly suggest investing in one of these kind of songbooks. If you want, I could just post the song list according to piece type.

I'm playing for a wedding this weekend where the bride requested the traditional few, some Chopin and Jim Brickman. Brickman is a great transitional style, developmental, melodic, etc. But I don't know how you stand on non-classical music.

I've also played Jim Brickman stuff at at least one wedding I know of. I think the song was called "Angel Eyes" or something like that. Very pretty song IMO - simple melody/harmony with some really great nuance here and there.
