I also like it for it's practice and recording convenience. I can't practice on my 50/100w tube amp at 11 at night. Also, I'd rather record directly with the Pod because it sounds great without all the extra volume. It's perfect for me.

| Guys - if Ax wants to be one dimensional, there's nothing wrong about that -it's for him. Most of us don't have to be that way and we don't have to justify ourselves. I think the other members on the board are smart enough to see both sides and decide. A guy like Musicpro, who's in the business has a lot of credibility as well as guys like Lincoln Brewster and Karl Messner, who are touring pros who use modelers.
So, Ax, is it okay for some of us to like it and state that preference without an argument? |

Do you really mean to say that PODs are worthless to people who are opposed to cover bands? IOW, the only people who would use PODs are in cover bands? |

| I wasn't being argumentative, i was stating my opinion.. no need to get angry, i said "for somebody like me" the whole "all i need" post was to clarify that i wasn't tearing down the pod, but that i don't need all the multi-fx or an amp modeler, and i could have sworn there was a post about it being a multi-fx (that's what i was replying to... the fact is that some people like their PODxt's, some people love them and do wierd things to them at night (jk, we wont go there) some people are totally against them, i PERSONALLY have no need for one, somebody might! i'm not straddling the fense, on the pos side or the neg side, i'm on the grey area 2 miles out... no need to neg me over this and pm me and make voodoo dolls. i'm a very opinionated person, but i also know that other people are entitled to their opinions, i never said somebody was wrong... and as for the Karl Messner arguement, i've met Karl, he's nice dude and a great guitarist, he NEEDS a POD and most people can't tell the difference in his POD and the original Recording, good for him, Apologetix rocks, where Karl needs his POD I DO NOT.. BTW!!! I was the person who suggested the POD in the first place, read post #3...
and if you read further MusicPro and I agreed on most everything, none of this was about me until TheSteve made it personal to me....
anyways back on topic...
I still maintain that the POD or other MFX shouldn't be your ONLY piece of equipment, use it with other things, that was my suggestion, i never said don't buy one, i said that I don't need one, but i never said not to get one, if you don't want 100 million pedals and amps the POD is great, but if you're just using 1 amp and a couple pedals, then you dont' need a pod, some people use a TON of effects, I don't, and not everybody does, WE don't need these, especially if we already bought the pedals or found them cheap, or purchased them one by one or recieved them as gifts.... but if you are one of those really over the top guys who use in excess of 10 effects and play so many different styles that you can't afford all the extra gear then an MFX is for you...

I can't believe this is becoming like Harmony Central. I left there because of stuff like this. You ARE arguing whether you want to admit it or not - and this is not the first time! Sorry, but you really don't have to respond to every post...
BTW, Karl plays a Boss GT-8. |

| thread closed in the best interest of the topic at hand...especially since it got rather...off topic, and was getting fairly heated at that.
