| Station 313 Station 313 is a Lexington, Ky based rock band who's influences span from Styx, REO Speedwagon, U2, and Coldplay. Formed as an all-star ensemble of students at "The Great Bridge Guitar Program" drummer Jake Gammon (a.k.a. Helmet) paired with guitarist Jonathan McKeown and the stage was set. With Alec Schram on bass and Amaris Blevins on lead vocal, this band has what some can only describe as a Primitive Cool blend of classic rock, blues, alternative, and contemporary christian. When you couple an incredible power trio with the "Alanis meets Janis" vocal of Amaris, it's truly fresh and nothing short of AMAZING www.myspace.com/station313 www.station313.com
Check it out, let me know what you think!

| This isn't a put down, or even a negative comment, but all I hear is the CCM, none of those other bands or genres in your music. Sounds good, but very, very CCM.
EDIT: Changed my mind. Hear elements of Classic Rock or blues in "Why Such a Change." Your bassist is awesome.

| I'm listening to "Another Night". It's pretty good. Your bass player is AWESOME.
This may have to do with the recording equipment, but the guitar is very quiet. It needs to be turned up.
Do you guys plan to put out an EP or CD?

| yeah, what you are hearing is just the 'scratch tracks' for our cd, it was all recorded one shot. Over this winter we will be going back and mastering everything.
As far as the guitar level, the studio that we originally mixed down in seemed to either a) complement the guitar and make it louder (through the studio monitors) or b) make the bass quieter, as in the recordings, the bass walks all over the guitar, but yes the bass parts are quite complex.
Anyway, I have on CD a new mix with more guitar, I just need to upload it onto myspace.

Your bassist is awesome. | I think "Another Night" has a kind of a Matchbox 20 feel, but the blues doesn't come out in it much at all. I think you'd have a better idea if you heard all our songs (including the ones we cover) but we're not there yet.... I hope we don't sound very CCM!!!

| That sounds pretty cool. The tracks could use a little balance, but otherwise all the parts are great, the bass player can really play, and i've got family in Lexington. Great combination!

| So the tracks on myspace have a little more guitar on them now, but it is really just a quick fix, I just got home from tracking some stuff for our album set to come out in march or april. It'll mix and sound a lot better, especially after we send it off to be mastered, I'll keep everyone up to date as much as possible

| I enjoy it. And I must agree with everybody, your bassist is awesome. And you're not a half bad guitar player yourself. |

These are still quite rough, but I'd love to have some input from you all about what you think as we continue to work out the final mixes

| "Why Such A Change"
Very nice. Good guitar tone, but the vocals are getting a bit buried. Too much reverb, mainly a problem in the beginning, you might want to try less or maybe a duck style reverb. The current verb is muddying up the vocals a bit. The bass is well played, but I might bring it down in the mix a bit, personally. Also, the lead guitar at the end of the song, I'd pan each of the tracks more towards the center, maybe trying out some effects where each is more toward one end, but while they're coming in and out, changing the panning, if you get what I mean. And at the end, I'd let things naturally decay a bit more.
"Daughter of a Preacher"
Well done. I might add a bit more reverb to the verse vocals, but maybe not. I'd also make the lead guitar have a mit more EQ in terms of the high end to make it stand out in the mix a bit more. Again, I might take the bass down a bit. |

| As most of you may know, my band, Station313 (myspace.com/station313) is in a contest to play on mainstage for Ichthus this year. For those of you who don't know, Ichthus is a huge annual outdoor music festival right here in our backyard.
Wanna Help? Here's where you come in...
To win, we need votes, we've always felt so blessed to have such a supportive fan base and now we need you more than ever. There are two ways to vote, through text messaging and online. You can text your votes as often as you'd like and as many as you'd like; the cool thing is that each text-vote enters you for a chance to win 5 ichthus tickets, a Nintendo WII, or one of several other door prizes. The thing with voting online is that you can only do it once per day, so PLEASE remain faithful voting as this could mean a huge break in our music careers with an opportunity to preform in front of top record executives as well as many other big name artists.
So here's the link that tells you how to vote, if you have ANY questions, feel free to let me know! http://www.ichthus.org/ascenxion/scout.htm
Thanks For your support,
Jonathan
