| EQ Settings What do you peoples set your EQs and other controls to on your amps? I'm looking for some more settings to try out. My current favorite is (These are all out of 12, as the Fender Hotrod likes to be awesome):
Gain = 12/12
Bass = 7/12
Midrange = 12/12
Treble = 7/12
Reverb = 0/12
Presence = 7/12

I always felt like running the drive much higher than 4 was pointless on the HRDlx. Whenever I did, I felt like it completely eliminated any difference between the "drive" and "more drive" settings.
Here's the settings I used on mine...recalled from memory
drive: 2-4
treble: 4
bass: 6
mid: 7-8
reverb: 9-10
presence: 4 Quote: |

When i start to play i'll need to turn the bass down and the mids a little higher so you can hear the bass player and the other instruments. And even so you could hear me better when i play.

And as confusing as it is for me who loves loud, distorted music, I prefer the Drive channel to the More Drive channel for most applications. For one, More Drive is too noisy for my tastes. Its plusses are how it handles pinch harmonics and feedback. I use it for the solos requiring those and nothing else. And I've found that I don't like reverb. I get a much cleaner sound without it. I sometimes set mine to:
Drive = 12/12
Bass = 12/12
Midrange = 0/12
Treble = 12/12
Reverb = 0/12
Presence = 7/12
And then I use only the More Drive channel. It gives a good sound for messing around with solos, but its definately not my thing for when I'm playing the sort of things I write.

I find that a good live situation HRDlx setting is:
drive: 3-4
treble: 7
bass: 6
mid: 5
reverb: 1-2
presence: 9-10
Played with a strat using the neck pickup, of course.

-Nick | Ew. I'm not a big fan of the neck pickup, except to do some of my softer songs on the clean channel.

But for most of the stuff I play, it's great. Sounds so... round and woody. Yeah, I think woody is a good word to describe it.
