help with norton anti-virus, please

so, i was some months without internet. after i reconnected it and updated norton, it just started popping out virus notices (bloodhound morphine)...it wasn't taking any actions...i finally got rid of 'em with zone alarm, but norton doesn't scan manually since then...it shows that the rea time scan it's working, but you can't scan single files and stuff....

any idea how to fix this....i've been using zone alarm, and today it started doing the same thing...and the update icon is unavailable...

any help appreciated

thanks..

Hmm, I'd say re-install Norton to start with or do the repair option during setup.

I say uninstall Norton, take the installation CD and break it into a million little pieces and then take those million little pieces and burn them. Seriously.
Norton is nothing but good news. May I suggest AVG?

Can't re-install Norton since I can't find the disc.

Haven't tried AVG nor Avast. I've been hearing good things about them as much as bad..and I can't afford them for now.

Anyways, Zone Alarm is working just fine. Thanks for the help.

AVG has a free edition that works great. So does Avast, if I remember correctly.
