Sanctus Real Teams with Total Axxess

Sanctus Real Teams With Total Axxess on 9-11 To Bring Resources, People, Hope to one Community on The Face of Love ONE STOP Tour

(Nashville, TN) August 11, 2006 -- As one of the top Christian rock bands today, Sanctus Real members are also about being the “face of love” and tangibly expressing their faith in action. On September 11 and 12, Sanctus Real members and Total Axxess radio host Jayar will travel to a community to meet a specific need in that community as part of The Face of Love ONE STOP Tour. Helping the band decide which community will benefit from the tour, the national radio program, Total Axxess, which is heard in more than 100 markets across the country, will begin a two week campaign today encouraging its listeners to write in about a need that their community has, and how that need can be met. After the specific need is chosen by the station and the band, listeners will also have the opportunity to participate in The Face of Love ONE STOP Tour by providing resources, time and encouragement.

“We’re excited about the One Stop tour because we are inviting you to come with us,” notes Sanctus Real front man, Matt Hammitt. “We can all get involved in making a difference in the lives of others. “The heart behind the song, ‘The Face of Love,’ is that there is nobody too lost for us to love, nobody too low to serve,” continues Hammitt regarding the band’s current hit radio single and title track to its best-selling album. “As followers of Christ, we have to be willing to put ourselves aside to help other people. We’ve been talking a lot as a band about what that means for us, and we’ve been trying to find ways to get involved in projects and put the message of the song into action. So we decided that we’re going to do something this fall with our friends at Total Axxess, The Face of Love One Stop tour.”

“Total Axxess is a show that always tries to just be real,” comments the show’s host, Jayar. “Usually promotions on the show are funny and entertaining, but we wanted to change it up for once and give our time and energy to some listeners who are really in need of some love during a tough spot right now. And when it comes to being real and showing people love, Sanctus Real was the perfect band to partner with.” R&R’s most played Christian rock band of 2004 and recipient of 2005’s Modern Rock Album of the Year GMA Music Award, Sanctus Real, released its third national studio album, The Face of Love, April 4 to wide critical acclaim. Inspired by real-life heartache and rediscovered joy, the emotions behind each track on The Face of Love are vulnerable and undisguised, making this album the band’s most accessible project of their career and exhibiting the band’s progression both musically and lyrically. The debut radio single from the album and the band’s first MTV featured video, “I’m Not Alright,” launched to No. 1 becoming the band’s fourth top-charting radio hit. The band’s second single and title track to The Face of Love released this summer and has already become a multi-format Top 25 hit and climbing on both the R&R AC and CHR charts.
