Gibson Super Thor

I picked up an old Super Thor bass amp with a peavey Backstage 30 watt guitar amp from a warehouse, and wanted to see if anyone knows about it. It is a solid state and is curently out of comission. I know what parts I need, but can't find them anywhare. For now I'm using the backstage 30 watt amp for a head and it works fine, but dosent get the power of the Super Thor. The reason I want this amp fixed is I can't afford a new or expensive amp and want something loud enough for small gigs

If you want pictures I might be able to post them

Thanks for the help

i'd definitely be interested in seeing some nice detailed pictures of it. I don't know anything about the amp though.

I should be able to post the pictures tomorrow, but in the mean time, is there anything specific on it that you wanted to see? I can also take pictures of the inside of the amplifier(head). And yes, it is 2 X 15, but it's a combo amp with a pretty small area for the nobs, so it can easily be mistaken for a cab. Sorry I cant tell you how it sounds, I bought it in this condition so I have no idea what the tone is like.
-thanks

Here are a few pictures, sorry it took so long. Please note that this is the Peavey backstage 30 watt head instead of the original super thor head. If I had more room, I could put the pictures of the super thor head on.

sorry I'm still figuring this site out
here's the pctures of the super thor head. I can also give you the numbers of the parts I need, although they probably won't help because gibson changed the parts they used almost monthly. Not to mention thier impossible to find anyway.

that's exactly what that one dude has-but he put a diff. head on and used it as a cab (I'm pretty sure it said Peavey on the head)

that's what I'm thinking of doing if I can't fix the head, and I should put some grille cloth on.

Yeah his is awesome-do it if you can-
he's got an 8string peavey bass too-that has nothing to do with this but I feel it was important

I'm stuck with 4 string, but when I get the money I'll try and gat a good quality head. At some point I'll try and replace the speakers, but I'll have to do some research on quality and price. I want it to last a while so I'm gonna realy put a lot of time and money into it. The only downside to it is its a pain to move around

if the current speakers are good, I wouldn't mess around with them. They're probably just as high quality as most replacement speakers nowadays.

And if you can get that head fixed, I would think that would be very nice as well.

If I could fix the head I definitly would, but I've already tryed to find the parts, and this thread was kind of a last hope for me. I have done counless google searches and it seems like parts for these things are impossible to find. I only need 2 parts and since the amp is about 35 years old and not worth much(since it's a solid state) the parts could easily be walked over without even knowing it. I have a 100 watt amp circut board but I have no idea how to install it.

do you have any local amp repair shops or electronics shops? If you know what parts you need, either of these places might be able to help you find modern workable alternatives.

For what it's worth, I'd guess a working Gibson Super Thor is worth $250+ in decent condition.

exactly what two parts are you looking for?
