| Just a side note... on mythbusters last night they claimed that anything over 160db would damage your ears, anything over 180db could kill you from the shock alone... and that the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki had dbs of 248... not sure if this is factual tho ...
Also it will take one more day for it to get here... fed ex shipped it a day late for the facility. |

that being said, the threshold of pain is supposed to be about 130db. I would say that anything over 80 or 90 db will damage your ears with prolonged exposure.
whether or not the bombs at Nagasaki and Hiroshima were 248db is hard to determine. At such levels you're not talking about sound waves anymore as much as you're talking about shockwaves. |

| Well at about 3:45 today, the fed ex truck pulled into my drive way. The driver stopped the truck and opened the back hatch. He stepped into the truck and grabbed ahold of the amp box which was rather large. He drug it to the back of the truck and then picked it up. He had it half way out of the truck when POW… the box broke and the amp came tumbling out with a million Styrofoam peanuts… jkjk… he grabbed it and took it out of the truck. He laid it on its side and then plopped the other side to the ground, rather heavily… which scared me. I then took my package inside. I unwrapped it and found a gazillion Styrofoam peanuts. After taking these out I finally saw my amp. I took it out and plugged it in. I gave it a good 2 minutes to warm up the tubes before I even touched my guitar. After I turned it on, I noticed a little *tinking* sound as the tubes warmed up… am I supposed to hear that??? After they warmed up, I turned up the volume to about 3 and played on the clean channel. After a couple minutes I switched to the other channel. I played a riff on the low E string and heard a rattle… it only occurs on the low e string. I believe it is a tube rattling… is there any way to tighten them and keep it, whichever it may be, from rattling??? It sounds amazing but the rattle is rather annoying. Is there a way to tell which one is doing this??? Help please... also when i turned it off the first time i heard a lound pop... is this bad??? |

also, i'd wait awhile after you've been playing to do this...in your amp, you can sorta think of each tube as a 30W lightbulb. it gets HOT. |

| There are little steel "wires" holding each tube in, do i take these off and then pull the tubes straight out??? or is it more complicated than that? |

| I got a huge "POP" when I first turned my Classic 30 off, as well. I don't get the pop as bad now, though. A little pop, but I think that's probably normal.

| Well the "retention springs" are secured in plastic loops which are secured to the top of the cabinet on both sides of the tube... so giving it a pull would only stretch them out... |
