| Forgetting about that pesky capo... I know many of us have probably done this at least once. I know I have.
Still...I couldn't help...but laugh..hysterically.

| Haha... I like how they just keep going as if nothing has happened. Makes you wonder if they noticed.

| A well-practiced band should be able to recover from that pretty easily, particularly with how long it was before the rest of the band actually comes in and how obviously different the key was listening to his singing. Makes for a funny story later on, though.

| I wonder if the guitarist figured it out later and just started to transpose it.

| Wow! I'm feeling rather thankful that my band would cover for me (or at least give me really wierd looks) if that type of mistake was threatening. The interesting thing in the example is that nobody in the band seemed to think something was up during the first verse??? Generally speaking, the guitarist and the bass player each at least know enough about the other's job that one can see when the other is heading for the edge of the cliff... but if they don't, o my!

| Once I went on stage (not praise, but a rock show) with two guitars, one tuned standard and the other tuned down a step. Well, you can pretty much guess what happened. Picked up the downtuned guitar for a tune in standard... it was pretty funky... but I figured it out quickly, and started playing everything up a couple frets . |

| See, we usually avoid that problem by sticking to open keys. I don't think we've ever had to play outside of G, D, E or B except for a few times, so if there is a mix-up, it can be easily corrected and usually isn't too bad at all. Especially for lead guitarists who use a lot of 1-5 drones.
