Wind Instruments.

I was just wondering who plays some, and what?
What's good to play, etc?
I am getting stale, and want to talk with some people who play some.

I was watching a man on t.v. play 2 flute like-piccilo instruments at the same time, it was truly amazing.

OH, and I didn't notice a Wind Instruments area- so I hope it is fine here.

I play the flute. It is a awesome instrument that can play basically anything you want. Then once you get to know the flute you can start piccolo. It is fun to play both in the same song.... we have to switch really fast.

Wow, that sounds like fun! I know sometimes it is hard to find flute music, and I end up using piano/guitar music sheets. Do you know anywhere to get any good flute music? That is the great thing about learning basic flute, it is easy to switch to another type of flute with little difficulty or thinking. I guess that comes with understanding music in general, or say instruments that are bass, or treble.

I've started playing picolo (sp?) found a website with instructions to make a 6 hole flute from 22mm hot water pipe. It's got a surprisingly sweet tone!!

I am trying to get more into Jazz, it is a harder but the rythmn is delightful. Classical of course! Handel right now. Do you know of any good Jazz music/songs I should try? ( I personally think the flute sounds the best in those two and then celtic. I LOVE celtic music. )

Hello! That sounds sweet. I think I would like to try making that flute. Could I have the website? What are you finding is helping you as you learn the piccolo? IS this your first flute instrument to learn/try or do you already know how to play? (for a while)

No way! That is so cool! I would love to try playing the pennywhistle. Very much.

What is it like playing the bagpipes? Does it take a lot of air power?
