naah, Larry rocks. "If my lips ever left my mouth, packed a bag and headed south. . . . " I know there's a verse that says this, I just can't remember where it is. Somewhere in the Old Testament, I think. Anyway it's totally Scriptural.

I'm beset with regret. I should have deleted that "totally Scriptural" part. I'm sorry if it sounded heretical and blasphemous. Pardon me. Very bad form.

My votes just a few....would go to

Rich Mullins
Keith Green
The Choir
Caedmons Call
John Micheal Talbot is also good, though I like him more for his instrumentals than his songs, but his songs are very good theologically.
Also anyone heard of Sheri Youngward? If not, check here out, she is great.

And toss them out as they dance through my mind
But a sweeter love than His, you're never gonna find.

I can say that from my heart, I know it's true
Yeah the Best thing I can tell you is God Loves you
And He sent His only son as living Proof

Present my argument, and state my case
But I'd rather tell you of, his wonderous grace
'Cause Jesus, He died for you
Now I could talk about, theology
Or dabble in some deep, philosophy
but it all comes down to what was done, on Calvary
When Jesus died for you

Luke says:

I wouldn't worry about it. It was rather obvious that you were being sarcastic (and it was actually pretty funny), although in the future you might add a for clarity.

I actually got to meet them last year when I was at Florida Christian College. They did a show for our college High School days. They were really nice guys and put on a great show. I helped them set up

That was really cool that they set up all their own equipment.

If i haven't skipped it-- no one has mentioned Delirious?!

as for a more "regular" christian band, earthsuit, the benjamin gate, switchfoot, and luna halo come to mind.

Although sometimes some secular artists have more "theologically sound" lyrics then some christian bands! dont ask me for examples, cause i can't think of any at the moment...

I agree.... and I can give an example.

Linkin Park - "In The End"

"I tried so hard and got so far,
But in the end it doesn't even matter;
I had to fall to lose it all,
But in the end it doesn't even matter.

I put my trust in You, pushed as far as I can go..."

So close to how it is in the Christian life. It doesn't matter HOW hard you try... nothing matters EXCEPT for trust in God. Of course, I doubt that Linkin Park was referring to God in any way... but can y'all see what I'm talking about?

Luke says:

Someone mentioned them. I like them as a band, but my opinion of them dropped dramatically when they tried (and failed) to heal someone of a serious sight problem at their Austin concert.

Here is the most theologically sound song written by my roommate.

Its kind of an inside joke...we're mocking one of our professors

Enjoy!!

I was at the concert...and I dont remember it being a sight thing, i guess i'm wrong...but I dont remember anyone saying that it failed. But i guess if that's what you remember, i guess i'm wrong. But just because he/she wasn't healed right then doesn't mean that that person wasn't healed or whatever later. But I dont want to get into a debate about that, because I KNOW i'm not ready for it. But anyway, it's kind of irrelvent since (from what i assumed) the topic of the thread is about the most theologically correct lyrics.

LOL! Looks like they should have taken a lesson from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, eh?
