| Ax, I was making fun of another post in the thread, which I assumed you had probably seen, since you replied to it. I know how to spell Han Solo. |

| So for those of you who were interested in a Necropolis amplifier we have some news. The ND is on hold for a while as we are first focusing on our other amplifier for the time being. That amplifier is currently nameless but will be a Single Ended Class A 15Watt Medium to High Gain amplifier. Going to be switchable down to 7.5 and 3.75 watts. It will have 3 stages of gain rather than the two that most single ended amps feature. We ARE still integrating the footloop and the second loop. For clarification the footloop is going to be buffered where the second loop is going to be line level. There's going to be a footswitch that engages and disengages a second gain knob and EQ so you can basically have two gain settings for clean/high gain or clean/low gain or low gain/high gain... YOUR CHOICE.
We will also be offering customized chassis, though that will cost some extra. For example, my head is going to be inside a superman tin lunchbox with the tubes sitting on top with customized tube cooling sleeves that look like the Metropolis skyline.
Eric's will be made out of road signs.

| The amp sounds cool. Any price estimate on this one?

And yes. You could either supply me with the Ammo Can or I could go to the surplus store to pick one up. It'd be cost of the can plus probably about 50 bucks as I'd have to specially design a layout for it. However, keep in mind, that it's going to have to be a larger ammo can, as it will have to case the transformers. On my Superman Tin, I'm going to get a very large one (they make them, just hard to find) and perf the back and put a fan in so that it cools it. I may leave the tubes inside as well. Will be a little cramped but not overly hard as the knobs and such with mine will be on their own perf that will be attached to the openable front.

| The exact features are:
2xEl84 single-ended Class A operation
2x12AX6 preamp tubes resulting in three gain stages.
1x6CA4 full-wave tube rectifier
Two "channels" - Two sets of pre- AND post-gain 3band EQ controls and gain controls, switchable with a footswitch.
Illuminated tubes, different colors for each channel, colors are buyer selectable.
Buffered effects loop built into the effects loop. Line-level effects loop in the rear of the amplifier.
Comes standard built however we feel like making our production model, however for an upcharge we will customize your build however you want, whether that be changing components, enclosures, colors, etc. Quote:

| When you guys get around to pricing on this, let me know. I'll put down a deposit as needed. If the tubes and iron were inside the can, that would be freakishly awesome. But, no colors would be needed if everything is hiding in an ammo can.
I am finally getting around to rebuilding that mustang. |

I am finally getting around to rebuilding that mustang. | We're shooting to have pricing figured out and be ready to sell by last-minute holiday shopping season. Because, you know, this is going to be THE amp to have this year.

| I'm starting to notice I go to bed before midnight these days. I'm actually on a normal sleep schedule. Its odd. So yeah, I kinda fell asleep an hour before you asked that question about bypasses.
Bypasses when there is nothing present in the loop are as easy as getting a female phono plug with a mechanical bypass switch that is open when a plug is inserted and closed when there is no plug inserted. They're easy to find. That bypass is also what makes traditional footswitching possible, so that the controls on the amp are treated seperately from the controls on the switch. With us using Cat-5 cable, we don't have that option with the footswitch (hence the original argument in favor of a microcontroller), so I'm going to need to include a physical switch so the end user can choose their method of channel switching. Either that or perhaps I can wire up some kind of thing that would just flip a relay or transistor switch by sending a signal constantly through the extra pin on the Cat-5 if its plugged in.
Hit me up when you get on and we'll figure out how to split this workload. |
