I'm thinking of getting an electric cello...

... At the end of next month.

These are sites I found that might have information on electric cellos, but I'm sure at least half of them would. I haven't looked at them yet. The only way to get an electric cello, I have supposed, is to order them online, since I haven't seen a single shop anywhere that sells them.

www.jordanmusic.com
www.yamahastrings.com
www.thestringcentre.com
www.electrifyyourstrings.com
www.woodviolins.com
www.electricviolinshop.com
www.samash.com
www.sharmusic.com

to be continued...

So full blown electric cello (solid deal) as opposed to just getting a pickup for a cello you already have? I know out of Radio Shack parts, I can rig a pickup for less than $7... If you're interested.

What about the effects and all that?

Wait.

We'll talk on AIM. It's faster.

Anymore suggestions? I can't decide whether to get an electric cello or just use a pickup and plug it in an amp. Can you do effects with a pickup?

What would you be using it for?

I know a friend of mine is in a band who has done some recording and played some gigs (nothing too big, but some stuff). She just bought an electric violin, and because of the fact she's in a band (even though it's a Christian band), they gave her a 50% discount because of the publicity it may get them.

I'm not sure where she ordered it from, but it's something to keep in mind (it doesn't hurt to ask!).

I can't think of any other way to use it other than in a band. If I can't get a band together ever, then I'll just have to play it to myself at home.

Okay. Got it.

So, a pickup is just as good as an electric, except it sucks when you play loudly.

I can't decide. Maybe I won't get anything anytime soon.

Okay, I didn't get anything, and I won't get anything. Maybe I'll get one when I'm richer? Which is a long time.
