Metallic Paint and Airbrushes

I have an airbrush that I got for Christmas and I was wondering, can I make metallic paint for the airbrush myself or should I just try to find some at a store? The airbrush that I have is the Testor Mighty Mini Airbrush which uses acrylic paint. Would it work if I just mixed metal flake in with the acrylic paint?

I've never used an airbrush, so take this for what it's worth, but I would think that with a forced air sort of painting system like that you'd have to use metallics specifically made for airbrushing. Otherwise you could easily end up with a very clogged nozzle.
