I've heard of it... I decided to learn Xiangqi first, though.

Im going to attempt to learn how to play. I understand how the pieces move and capture already, but the hard part is going to be learning to read the Kanji on the pieces.

What's "Xiangqi?"

I used to understand the rules. Never had anyone to play with though, (or a board for that matter). I was working on constructing my own board with pieces everyone could understand so as to be able to just tell them what each piece does and we can just go ahead and play. I'm thinking of starting up on it again to teach Dana's brother to play.

I may be resurrecting a dead thread here, but I wanted to inquire as to whether anyone knew how to play that would be interested in playing a CGR Shogi match with me? Kinda like how Lightknight does his Chess thing. I'll even make a board. Anyone?

All I need is to look up the rules and I'm in.

Awesome. I'll get to work on the graphical board and pieces.
