Of course. Haven't you seen Him in that video clip where he tremolo picks at a constant speed for 86 days straight?

Neil Young, because he started out as a really really sucky guitarist... and honestly he never got to be all that great, yet it never stopped him from rocking really hard and being awesome.

David Gilmour, because the man knows sonics and sound like no one before or after him.

Leo Kottke, because he defines fingerpicking.

The vocalist that is alive in this time period is named Sebastian Bach.

Johannes Sebastian Bach is an amazing classical era composer.

Eric Clapton's sort of always held a special place on my list.

Just an fyi: Bach, while he was alive and died during the very early Classical era, his music was primarily of the Baroque era.
Mozart was a Classical era composer.

Clapton made me think about playing guitar. It's all his fault.

Thank you for the correction, but this doesn't make him any more or less awesome.

Jon Foreman of Switchfoot inspired me to pick up guitar.

But my main influences now are Tom Linton, Jim Adkins, Jonny Marr, Blake Schwarzenbach, Bryan Maryanksy, Rivers Cuomo, Paul Westerburg, Kurt Cobain, Bernard Albrecht, Pete Townshend, and Jeremy Egnik.

And lots more.
