Post your ingredient lists. See what CGR can come up with!

| At long-awaited last, I have taken inventory of our ENTIRE foodstuff-belongings. The list is fairly exhaustive, be warned.
In no particular order, we have:
baby carrots
cheese - cheddar, provolone, monterey jack, mozzarella
butter - 2.5 sticks
broccoli (most of a crown)
onions (1 sweet, 1 white)
scallions (a small bunch)
pepperoni
mushrooms (2/3 package of the white ones)
lunch meat (turkey)
3 green bell peppers (and 1/3 of a yellow one)
roma tomatoes (about 7)
garlic (one bulb and one clove)
2 red potatoes
1/2 gal. of 2% milk (minus a little)
eggs
sliced white bread (half a loaf)
4 pkgs. ramen
egg noodles
spaghetti
rotini
rice
4.3 dried red peppers
cornstarch
flour
sugar packets
instant coffee
vodka oils: olive and sesame sauces: soy, worcestershire, tobasco, Chinese black bean cans: spiced, diced tomatoes (2), sliced black olives (2 small tins), evaporated milk (2), baby corn, cream soups (2 mushroom, 1 chicken), broth soups (chicken rice, veggie beef), pineapple chunks, corn spices: nutmeg, cloves, ginger, thyme, oregano, cinnamon, garlic, basil, pizza spice
Also available, though not "ours" - salt and pepper, baking soda
Have at it, BobbyDanielRoachie.

Have at it, BobbyDanielRoachie. | I definitely see a pasta dish of some sort in those ingredients.

On a brighter tangiential note, Art said last night/this morning that my cooking is improving.
And... would anyone like to jump in and suggest something I could try to have ready for Art to consume at 10pm Pacific time?

| Off the top of my head, I'd say roast or fry up some of those veggies (potatoes, carrots, broccoli, etc.). Then, make a sauce by melting 1 TBSP or so of butter with about 1 tsp of flour, pouring on some milk, and adding some cheese. Then mix the sauce with the veggies and serve over toast.

| Thanks for the idea, Daniel.
One minor issue: we don't have a toaster. The house's toaster oven is absolutely disgusting and I don't touch it with a ten-foot-pole. I'll be pulling out the small pan to toast the bread, it appears.
We're also limited in what sorts of cookware we have. No crock-pot and only one soup-pot, although I did "borrow" (read: find and use) another small one the other day. Nonetheless, it still irks me somewhat that I don't yet have the resources to cook rice like my mom did at home. I miss fresh Chinese rice.

The microwave around here isn't much better, but at least you can put paper towels on the bottom to make it bearable. I not only don't know how to clean a toaster oven, I have no desire to start with this one.

| Good point.
Though, the bread shouldn't take long, so you could probably roast the veggies, pull them out and stick the bread in while working on the sauce.
.. or just use a pan.

| Quick way to toast bread:
Take a skillet or gridle. Brush the bread with olive oil or spread some butter on. Heat the skillet or gridle, put the bread in, go until it starts to get all crisp and delicious-looking.
To clean a microwave, you can buy a number of things to help out- if you aren't willing to clean something to make it usable, there isn't much point in declaring it disgusting, now, is there? *wink*
Pouches are available that you just microwave. They swell and burst, releasing a steam composed of cleaning chemicals. Then wipe down the inside of the microwave, go over it again with damp paper towels and you're done.
To do it from scratch, just get something like 409 or hot water and baking soda. Scrub scrub scrub. Wipe down with damp paper towels and you're good to go.
To clean a conventional oven, remove the racks, heat to 250, spray with oven cleaner, let sit for 10 minutes and wipe down/out with a sponge, being careful to rinse the sponge often.
To clean a toaster oven, just... clean it. Get rid of crumbs and junk with a brush or a rag, making sure to wear rubber gloves or the like. Get at more persistent buildup with a sponge or rag, dampened with hot water. Get the really nasty stuff with a cleaning agent. You can clean the outside very simply- dry wipe to get loose stuff off, wet wipe to get less-loose stuff off, scrub to get nasties off, take a clorox wipe to get it all nice.
Be sure to unplug small appliances when you clean them, too. It's embarassing to being goaded into screaming by, say, a toaster.
Clean your appliances! It makes being in the kitchen much more enjoyable, Rachel.
