| SPAM...mmmm... So, there was a running joke going on in a spammish thread earlier which has since been (rightfully so) deleted. It got me to thinking though.
Does anyone else here eat (the food, not trollish threads) SPAM?
Fried SPAM is the best.

| Fried SPAM + pineapple + soy sauce + day-old steamed rice = good fried rice.
Seriously. Try it.
SPAM is a huge part of modern Hawaiian cuisine, because of the huge exposure the canned goodness got before, during and after WWII. It was cheap, accessible and a good bang for your buck, so chefs in restaraunts started incorporating it. Voila! It goes well with their traditional cuisine, as the lighter flavors go well with the light meat of pork.

| Spam is pretty nasty. I know it is huge in Hawaii, like someone above said. My old roommate from Hawaii was very pumped when he got a Spam plate lunch one day. He had missed it. |

| huge in minnesota too. Austin, MN is the headquarters for SPAM.
And it is nasty, they hand out free samples at the state fair. I wouldn't recommend it. :ick:
