I got this verse from an In-N-Out burger wrapper.

It seems like today everyone in the world is looking for that "inner peace". Theres so many products out there that states that this product will bring that inner peace. Just walk in to a Barnes & Nobles and on the front table there will at least be 4 different copies of self help and self improvement. There are countless videos/ dvd's of yoga, meditation, and other mental physical excercises that guarantee inner peace.

I think it is good that people out there are looking for that inner peace because if there is no peace within there is no peace on the outside. However it makes me cringe that people resort to something else other than God to find that inner peace. Theres so many "spiritual" books out there that states that it will bring tranquility into your hearts. The thing is though that these books, tapes, mp3, videos, etc tell you to DO things and that you must DO this and that to acheive inner peace. This isn't inner peace because you are constantly filling your life with activities that you are numbed to your aching inside for that peace of mind. On the other God doesn't tell you to DO things to achieve inner peace. Instead he tells us to be still and know that he is God(Psalm 46:10). We don't do anything, all we have to do is to trust him and be still and just enjoy his presence.
