Alaska became a state on Jan. 3, 1959.

Hawaii became a state on Aug. 12, 1959.

So even if we have people on these message boards from these states, they're probably too young to remember what it felt like to get annexed!

Since I enjoy getting technical....yes you have been. Florida was "annexed" by the US from Spain in 1821....so you have been "annexed". Technically, you could say we all have.
