This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |

Same here.
I knew that Benedict didn't like that stuff, and in part I agree with him. But not completely. I don't see anything wrong with praise and worship...but I do see something wrong with a "psychedelic band" that has "Mass in F Minor".

(that being sarcastic in case noone figures it out) Lets get rid of the guitars and go back to : Psalm 98:4-8 4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! 5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! 6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! 7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it! 8 Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills sing for joy together 9 before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.
Psalm 81:1-2 1 Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! 2 Raise a song; sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp.
Lyres, trumpets, horns, a roaring sea (drums could substitute here), rivers clapping (we just have to clap loud), tambourines, harps, and a few more lyres. Sounds good to me.
Oh, we will need to get rid of the pianos and organs too. |

Oh, we will need to get rid of the pianos and organs too. | Thats only my preference of course, not official doctrine one of the things that was a nice plus coming into the Catholic Church was the traditional and reverent music - guitars and the band don't exactly give me that impression, they put my mindset in the 21st century, take me out of the context of Liturgical worship, and into the context of a concert. It doesn't do alot for me personally in way of keeping my thoughts and mind on God. I much rather prefer some of the choir singing or something more traditional, although I don't mind the organs at all either, there is a nice sound there that reminds me of the vibrant horns and trumpets that I can envision the angels in Heaven playing!
Peace

| From the same statement: Quote: |
Benedict XVI said, "in the musical field, as well as in that of other artistic forms, the ecclesial community has always promoted and supported those who investigate new expressive ways without rejecting the past, the history of the human spirit, which is also the history of its dialogue with God."
| I don't think guitars are going anywhere very soon. |
