Oh yes, more expensive always means better

Anyway, this is like asking "Apples or oranges?". It's all subjective.

Hmmm... When I'm playing something that needs a lot of bite, I wish I had a Les Paul.

If I'm playing something that needs a smooth lead, or nice punch, then my Strat is nice.

So it depends. But if I'm going for a nice bite, I'd rather take the '72 Telecaster Deluxe.

I really don't think God cares which one you use.

Nice...

...or would it be a Les-caster?
Naw it would be a mahogany neck and body Carvin DC145 like this one
25 scale right in the middle between the two. I can cover the sweet warm sustain of a Paul and still with the tap and single in the middle get all of the Strat tones. I have 17 electrics as of now and have owned hundreds but this is the one guitar that I rarely leave home without and will NEVER part with!!!

Definitely a Strato-Paul.

This is starting to make me wonder... maybe I'll try my hand at building something like this in the fall when I have access to all the neccessary tools.

As said, this really is a subjective question.

For my style and personal taste though, I would go with a strat.

i have an idea! close this thread and remake it into a poll. Then we can actually vote. but i don't know, it depends what i'm playing and stuff, what i play right now, the les paul suits me better.

why make a poll out of a question that was stupid to begin with?

If you all really want to make it a poll, I can add one pretty easily...

I have a LP, Tele and Strats. You should all have one of each, then you don't have to keep asking this question. But, really, my Strats gets played the most - just me, but I love Strats.

Tele is the obvious answer if you MUST be electrified. MacPherson, Rainsong or Taylor are ideal for the acoustic stuff.

Ask me whether i want 5 million dollars or if i want a mansion. that's basically what you're asking. but due to personla preference, Les Paul.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight.
