I may as well update this, I reckon.
Copy and pasted from my blog:
The following was a brief in which we had to choose a quote by a famous person and create a font that embodies the way in which their personality comes through in the presentation of the typeface. We were then to take that font and create a type-based poster illustrating their quote. I chose to do Madonna: "I always thought I should be treated like a star."
I accentuated the self-absorption and her modern agenda in creating a sharp, geometric alphabet based on the concept of a 'crown' to imply that the letters are self-apotheosizing.

The next one is another type based project. The brief wanted us to depict music on an x and y axis- i.e.: show the scale of pitch versus time. We had to chose a section of a song- about twelve words- and compile the graphic to how the music sounds in relation to style and pitch and time. I chose to do a cover of "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by a band called Grizzly Bear (actually a member of Animal Collective). It is quite watery, electric and psychedelic and I endeavoured to instill my final piece with these qualities.
3. 'Hearing Type'
This is a drawing I did for this little exhibition type deal I was in on at a coffee cafe called 'the Bean Barn'. One of my mates organised it, and there where about 6 of us involved all in all. The theme was 'folklore', so I thought I'd do a nice Pegasus. Solt it for $100, but unfortunately it cost me $80 just to frame it.
4. Pegasus
This one's a drawing of my friend's face on a horse. No reason, other than me wanting to be cruel.
