I like the final result. Who was the model for the hand of God? It's rather amazing. I like the idea that God has dirt under his fingernails.

Ironically, the model was my father. His hands are stained with years of manual labour.

You're effing amazing.

The only thing I'd critique about that digital-y thing is that the perspective on the hand is a little odd. It doesn't seem to quite line up with the perspective of the person sitting there on the ground.

Still, it's awesoooome.

Yeah, that was the one thing that got me about the image too, but despite the awkwardness of it the composition still works in my eyes, so I'm leaving it well alone.

I was doodling today and came up with a stylistic sort of image attached to this post. Here it is in a) plain fineliner and b) rendered with watercolour paint... in Photoshop.

Awesome self-portrait! It really gives a feel of personality to you. The tie was a nice touch.

I like the rose, too. The Photoshopped one looks like it could easily be album art.

Hmmm... that's probably the first thing I've seen from you that I don't really like. The pose is very strange (feet facing one way, torso another way, head a third way... crazy), and the proportions seem off (something about the size of the neck and head compared to the size of the hands, for example, makes you look like a hobbit or a midget... very strange).

Haha. I totally agree with you. This is the reason it took months for me to post it. I really don't like it either- it was something I was forced to do, and I think the result reflects my attitude towards it.

It kind of looks like an illustrative style for a slightly-skewed fantasy novel.

(everything has a place, I suppose)
