| My clean channel breaks up at around 7-9 on the clean channel. I have 120 watts tube, with a late breakup. You wanna hear loud... Thats painful on 28db reduction.
So if its a loudness debate... I think I can get more volume than most here. I like saturating mine, however, I recently got a second preamp for driving my power amp into distortion.

I tried 10 the other day, 1 speaker, 8 ohms, 2 tubes, 50 watts. Sounded great until I was told to turn it down. I'm just south of Detroit, Michigan now, if anyone was wondering. I'll be back home around the 4th.

| I recently got a vox ac 30 custom classic 2x12 and upon getting it home i turned it up to about 7. Wow, talk about touch sensitivity. lighten up the touch or roll back the volume and beautifully full "clean tones" or dig in or roll up the volume and incredible overdrive is acheived. Probably no where near as loud as yours but wow it was still pretty loud. |

Its a one watt amp or a preamp. Currently, I am planning on building it a cab and using it as a high gain practice amp. Normally I use my peavey rig.
Cream machines are not that expensive if you can find them, and I had a tubeman for a while that I bought for $100. Hughes and Kettner stuff can be a great buy on the used market because lots of people do not know the name.

| When my uncle dropped off his guitar one time (MIA Fender Strat) I dimed my amp... 50 watts of tube power is delicious.
And really, it wasn't that loud.

| And the ears of the player.
I have harribly insensitive ears. I hear just fine, I just feel no pain in my ears, ever. It's gonna cost me one of these days... |

| I used to feel pain... Not so much anymore...
I do quite frequently hear ringing. Yes, I do realize this is a problem...
