I have very high hopes for this film from what I've read. It stays very close to the original, only adding to parts that I thought sucked in the first place.

The original has Gregory Peck as the dad of the antichrist. The only odd thing is that he might be around 60 in this role, as well as his wife. In the new film I find the couple to be much more convincing in the role.

The main changes are only to update the film a bit, which is needed in certain places. I would imagine most people would think the film is terrible if they are used to the usual slasher CGI epics being put out. It's very natural and very psychological rather than jumpy.

I'm going to see this tonight and will then report about it. It should be good, I think.

Also it kept reminding me of the Omega Code or Left Behind... ahahah
If by the fact that it was biblically correct, then yes. The same as one could state about the Exorcist or Rosemary's Baby. The late 60s/early 70s showed a high peak in end-times films, especially those that had a strong biblical basis. The 3 mentioned in this post are among the most groundbreaking and well-known. I would find it laughable that such classic films could be placed in the same position as that garbage mentioned above.

Saw it tonight. I'm glad it wasn't just trying to be another Saw or crappy horror movie. Although there are a few parts that just made me laugh out loud. Nothing really scary, so don't go in expecting to be scared.

This movie just comes across as disturbing, and that's pretty rare these days.

I liked it a lot, mostly because of the story...

I went to see it. It beats the original by far.

I think the kid that played Damien will have the shortest holywood career ever. No matter where he goes, he'll be that kid you hated from The Omen...
