Lee, is it wrong that I enjoy singing cheesy pop songs for Karaoke? For example, my setlist last week:

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way
Ricky Martin- Livin La Vida Loca
Bonnie Tyler- Total Eclipse of the Heart
Vanilla Ice- Ice Ice Baby

Songs in which I occasionally indulge (some more often than others):

"Without Me" by Eminem
"Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey
"Socially Acceptable" by DC Talk [already been covered, I know; I just wanted to share]
"Sondancer" by Dakoda Motor Co.
"My Mic" by Nick Cannon

That's probably not all, but that's enough sharing for now.

Nothing wrong with Ginny Owens....unless you normally listen to Cannibal Corpse.

I would be more embarrassed owning their last two CDs. Going Public and Not Ashamed are in my top three Newsboys albums. They desperately miss John James in that band.

I agree.

You know what?

I saw the sign and it said that there ain't nothing wrong with Ace Of Base. It's good pop music. Let the doubters doubt.

I, for one, don't like Barbie Girl. Here's the cool thing though....it don't matter what I like. Proudly play your Aqua and don't worry about who does or does not like it.

ABBA is the greatest pop group to have ever existed. Don't EVER be ashamed to crank them.

The Monkees have some great songs. No, they didn't write them and they didn't play on the majority of them, but they are still good pop songs. I love The Monkees.

Ashlee Simpson killed pop music.

James Blunt....never heard of him.

Shakira has her moments. Listen with reservation. Only be embarrassed if you're a full-blown Shakira fan.

That song bugs me to no end. I don't know why anyone would want to listen to it. It's not embarrassing....it's annoying.

I own Robbie's first cassette. Yes....I said cassette. For those of you out there scratching your heads, that's what music came on before CDs.

Ice Ice Baby is the only good song on that album. Rock it. If you play the rest of it....then you need to be embarrassed.

Freakin' high school.

I have the first 3 Plus One CD's and all of Stacie Orrico's ones thus far.
(even though I don't listen to them these days, just pull 'em out once in awhile for kicks)

I have Kylie Minogue's Fever.

I also have a Ryan Cabrera CD. In my car. And I like it.

Embarassing enough for the Modlin? And what gets approval?

Boy bands can be allowed if, at any point in your life, you were a pre-teen girl. They are also allowed if you have kids.

Kylie Minogue is a pretty good singer. Her version of The Loco-motion would more of a guilty pleasure though.

Stacy Orrico is just bad music in my opinion. BUT....if you bought/received it as a pre-teen you are allowed to cling to it for nostagic purposes.

I've already discussed Ryan....he's 14 year old girl music.
