| I saw it a few weeks ago with the same people I saw the first one with...two of us hated it, and the third loved it. I dunno...it was just soooo long for me...and I get really bored easily...so yeah..it didn't do much for me. I also didn't find it very funny. And there were certain parts I just thought really...unnecessary...

| I finally saw Dead Man's Chest earlier tonight and really enjoyed it. It was definately on par (if not slightly better then) the first film. However, the more I think about it, the more I wish that the movie had ended a few scenes earlier. The last couple of scenes seemed like they would of been better suited for opening the next film, but it's not a big deal.
I just hope the third film doesn't fall ill to what I like to call "The Matrix Syndrome".

I also found out that the third movie will be called Pirates of The Caribbean; At World's End. It is also slated for a May 25, 2007, release into theaters.

| I dunno, I left the the movies disappointed.......the half human/half animal pirates just weren't as cool as the half human/half skeleton pirates of the first one. IMO. It was a good movie, but not much about it gave me the crash-boom-bang adventure I was expecting. Plus, not knowing they were leading up to a third, I was expecting a different ending.......Jack hides the heart in his jacket over his own heart - fight Davey Jones - Jones stabs/shoots Jack through the heart, thereby killing himself - Jack either dies and is dead/dies and is miraculously revived/is wounded. But that wouldn't have tied as easily into a third one.
Actually, the part of the movie that stood out to me was watching the duo of pirates from the first movie who were now terrified of their mortality. Just made me think a bit.

| I saw the midnight showing and slept through about 15 minutes of the movie. I found it long, cliche and far too predictable. Not to mention the Jack Sparrow character became more of a slime-ball and less of simply an odd-ball. Was not thrilled.

| I have a question and I did not want to open a knew thread in case that's been answered elsewhere. Here goes:
Can someone tell me why they needed the blood (Olando Bloom's blood) for the curse to be lifted in the first movie? I followed the whole thing but that part I seemed to have missed. |

| Als I thought the second movie was really great and I'm very happy that I got it on DVD now, after seeing it twice in theatres in the first two weeks.
Can't wait for the third one, which coincindentally comes out in the same month as Spiderman 3 and Shrek 3.

What I don't understand is why? Was his father the owner of the chest to begin with? Or was it something else? |

| His father had also taken out a piece of the cursed treasure -- the piece that Elizabeth took off of Will had at the beginning of the movie.
I thought that the undead pirates of Pirates II just didn't resonate the way that undead pirates did in the original. POCII was too Will Turner focused, and Depp's Sparrow felt half-hearted. And when Sparrow was swallowed by the Kraken? Worst...hero shot...ever.
