| Honeymoon to Australia/New Zealand. Me and my fiance are planning to go to Australia and New Zealand for our honeymoon and I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on places to go and things to do. I already know about and want to go snorkling on the coral reef and see the outback, of course. I was just wondering what else there is to do over there aside from that, especially in New Zealand. Thanks -Daniel.

2I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3For, being ignorant of the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.[a]
Romans 9:30-33
30What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but that Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness[d] did not succeed in reaching that law. 32Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, 33as it is written, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame." |

| Well, in New Zealand, Auckland is the largest city. Very metropolitan, lots of shops and all that jazz. Heading down south you've got lake Taupo which is a touristy area. The lake is huge and beautiful. There would be a lot of activities to do with the lake. You could go trout fishing. North from Taupo is Rotorua which is kind of like our cultural hotspot. You can experience some Maori culture, they have thermal mineral pools, and gambling! (The nickname for Rotorua is Roto-vegas). It's called Rotorua because there are two lakes (roto - lake, rua - two). So there would be some water based activities as well. Also, Rotorua is famous for the luge. It's like a down hill 1 person bobsled type thing. Great fun! Head south from Taupo and you've got the Tongariro National park. There's where you can do your skiing. I've never been there myself, but I believe you can ski on either of 3 mountains. Mt. Tongariro, Mt. Ngaruwahia, and Mt. Ruapehu. And there's things to do and places to see all around the show on the North Island, there'll be something all around the coast. Oh yeah, and from the North Island you can get to Waiheke Island, and Mt. Rangitoto. There's things to do over those places as well, I believe.
South Island, the main places you'll want to hit are Queenstown, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill. I've never been to the South Island, but I know that Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world. Bungee jumping, jet boat rides, fly by wire, all kinds of craziness. Oh, and good skiing apparently. I don't know much about the other places, bu Christchurch is supposed to be really beautiful. Oh yeah, I totally forgot the whale watching off Kaikoura, that's up on the east coast.
Anyway, do yourself a favour and check out http://www.aatravel.co.nz/main/index.php
And do a search online for stuff you might want to do when you get here, but if you're wanting to book anything, go through that aa site I gave you. They won't put you crook. |
