I just heard him say Evolution caused Nazism, Communism, and Facism.

And the Columbine shooting...

Evolution regards humans as only animals thus those who believe it justify their actions with "We/They are just animals".

Gracias, Benj, I was about to post that.

In that aspect (I won't get into the other ones right now), Dr. (yes, he IS a doctor) Hovind is correct. All that horrificness comes from the idea that humans are just animals, so it doesn't matter.

I just thought of something. Ever noticed how inconsistent these guys (Hitler, etc.) are? "Oh, we can kill you, but don't you dare try to kill us!"

First off, NOT BENJ.

Second off, Dr. (a doctor does not make a scientist) Hovind's "opinions" are no more scientific evidence, than his saying that evolution caused nazism.

It is preposterous to listen to someone who has NO scientific proof, and no background in science.

On top of which, the whole tax evasion thing, makes it ridiculous to me, why ANYONE christian or not would listen to what he has to say.

Do you have proof that it didn't?

My personal beliefs are not in question. However, the fact that a public figure is going around spreading his propoganda without even a SHRED of evidence, neither biblical or scientific, is ridiculous.

You claim that he gets all his "proof" from the Bible.

The only thing I have seen is him taking things out of context, and being very ambiguous to references in the bible.

He has NO scientific proof, or even good theories.

Hello!??!?! He taught high school science for 15 years before starting out in the evangelism!

Look, he made a mistake. Now he is paying for it. Is that ANY reason to keep beating him upside the head with it? Is that ANY reason to discount the valid arguments he had about other issues?

Look, Gwen, have you ever even watched his stuff? Have you ever even given him a CHANCE?

I'm sorry but a science teacher is no more a scientist than a Biology Professor in college. Also teaching a class does not give you "background".

Secondly, what valid arguments? He has said nothing valid so far as I have seen.
Also his tax evasion, discredits him. There is forgiveness, but you better believe I'm not going to take any stock or interest in anything he has to say in the future.

1) If he believes evolution isn't true than how could it have caused anything?
2) If he means the idea of evolution has caused those things, then it is the wrong idea of evolution. I'm not sure how saying man is "just an animal" is justification for murder. Even from a non Biblical perspective, humans have many abilities that put us above animals (reason, self-consciousness, etc...)
3) The wrong idea of Christianity (among other things) is probably more linked to things like Antisemitism and racism. But that does not mean true Christianity caused those things.

Unfortunately, I have had that "pleasure". I stopped giving him a chance after one too many ridiculous propositions, and off the wall theories with not even a shred of scientific evidence.

There are no valid arguments... I mean, I'm a creationist, I believe in a younger earth, but if you're gonna attack stuff then you should back it up scientifically rather than "oh this just seems wrong so I know it is wrong"

Of course he doesn't believe in evolution, he meant the idea.

Hitler believed blacks and Jews were nothing but animals, and thus justified killing them.
