Blood on the Tracks

Such an emotional album, really. Not as playful as the earlier stuff, but a refined, fresh version of great Dylan music. It shows a very mature Bob as compared to his 60's efforts which I don't think he even understood much himself. Luckily this album happened before Dylan lost his "good" voice. "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" seals the deal.

Wow, this is a really tough one. Both amazing albums. This is Joy Division's best album (yes, I do think it is better than Closer). A stunning, dark debut. Blood On The Tracks is Dylan's last great album. Both of these albums I thoroughly enjoy. This vote was really hard for me, but in the end I chose Joy Division. My choice is subjective though because really the only reason I can choose Unknown Pleasures over Blood On The Tracks is because I listen to it more. Also it was basically the start of post-punk.

Blood on the Tracks for sure. I am less familar with Unknown Pleasures (I don't own it, I have only heard various tracks), but Blood on the Tracks is my favourite Dylan album. From what I know, they are both amazing albums.

I'm going with Joy Division here. I'm betraying the inner Dylan fan inside me, but cmon, "Disorder" is about enough to do it single-handedly. Unknown Pleasures is interesting because it's this on-your-back-in-your-bed-in-the-dark-stairing-at-the-ceiling music that you can also dance too. That's a unique combo. Blood on the Tracks has never been one of those elite-elite Dylan albums to me. I always thought it started off with a rush and then completely ran out of gas halfway through. Let's be honest: "Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts" kind of sucks. And I like Joy Division's bass emphasis. They win.

I know. We're 0-2 so far, Brooks. Hey, I'm the guy who would vote for Fun House over anything else in this tournament.

It would be cool to have a tourny where some giants didn't just steamroll over everything from start to finish.

I'm starting to think that I would too. The Stooges are certainly one of the best bands I've seen live and Fun House would be in my top 5 punk albums.

I don't care what anyone says and how cliche it is but IV needs to win this.

I'm tired of listening to IV on the radio, as much as I love it I'm looking forward to the rest of the tourny.

You know what? What would happen if we could erase all the overplay and all hear IV again for the first time? It'd probably plow through the tournament. I'm supposed to be in bed. Goodnight.

Unknown pleasures. They're english after all! Don't worry, I won't always vote on the basis of nationality, its just I'm not 100% familiar with both albums.
