a little advice vets

i have been leading youth for about 7 months now. i have loved leading the worship, and i know i am called to the ministry.....and i know this is something i'll probably deal with a lot.

during youth worship, my group is usually wither unfocused, or unreceptive. i have tried doing new songs, and i've made them aware of it many times. they continue to do it.

so....does anyone have any advice?

Let the youth themselves select some of the songs that you worship to.

Youth like that sort of thing. It makes them feel connected and involved.

pray alot, and remember that not everyone is an emotional worshipper. music isn't the only form of worship nor is it the ultimate form of worship.

I'm a guitar player in my youth group's praise and worship band, and I remember Ian our leader saying that our youth group has its own style that it would respond to best. Our songs are usually quite energetic, and evne our "slow" songs still have quite a bit of energy. You might want to see what sound or style they would respond to best.
